What is a wellness exam?

Every exam at Yorkson Creek Veterinary Hospital is a thorough nose to tail exam, but a wellness exam is different.

In wellness exams, preventative health care is the focus. Topics discussed (and not limited to) are vaccinations, deworming, dental health/care, ideal body weight/caloric requirements, behaviour, nail trimming and exercise.

Wellness exams help to improve your pet’s quality of life by reducing the risk of certain illnesses and injuries.

It is important for pets to come in biannually (twice yearly) for wellness exams as they enter their senior years. Pets age faster than humans and certain diseases become more prevalent in senior pets. The earlier we detect these diseases the better chance we have at successfully treating them.

We would love to see you and your pet for a wellness exam. There is nothing better than sending you home with the knowledge that your pet is healthy!
