Our Story

Yorkson Creek Veterinary Hospital opened its doors in March 2015 in the Willoughby Town Centre, a growing family community in Langley Township that needed a full-service veterinary hospital close to home. Since then, the clinic has grown into a trusted part of the Willoughby community, serving thousands of dogs, cats, and their families across Langley Township, Walnut Grove, Brookswood, and the surrounding area.

Today, the hospital is owned and led by Dr. Kanwaljeet Behl, a veterinarian with over 20 years of hands-on clinical experience in small and large animal care. Under his leadership, the clinic has continued to grow its team, expand its services, and invest in the modern equipment and thoughtful environment that good veterinary care requires. Dr. Behl’s approach to veterinary medicine, shaped by two decades of clinical practice across multiple countries, centers on clear communication, precise clinical work, and treating every patient as a family member.

Meet Dr. Kanwaljeet Behl, DVM

Dr. Kanwaljeet Behl is the owner and lead veterinarian at Yorkson Creek Veterinary Hospital. He earned his Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc & A.H) from Punjab Agricultural University in 2001 and completed a Master of Veterinary Science (M.V.Sc) with a focus on animal reproduction, gynecology, and obstetrics in 2003. He brings more than 20 years of clinical experience across small animal, large animal, and complex surgical cases.

Since joining the lower mainland veterinary community, Dr. Behl has built a practice that reflects both his clinical depth and his commitment to the families he serves. He is experienced in performing complex surgeries, managing challenging medical cases, and guiding pet owners through decisions that require both technical knowledge and honest, compassionate communication. His approach to every case, whether a routine wellness exam or a difficult surgical procedure, is grounded in precision, patience, and genuine care for the animal in front of him.

Dr. Behl is also committed to building a strong clinical team around a shared set of values: thorough care, clear communication with clients, ongoing staff development, and a clinic environment where both pets and their families feel genuinely supported.

Outside of work, Dr. Behl is a devoted father of three daughters. The same family values he brings to his personal life inform the way he runs his clinic. Every pet that comes through our doors is treated as a cherished member of the family.

Yorkson Creek Veterinary Hospital is a modern, full-service clinic equipped to handle the breadth of veterinary needs your dog or cat may have throughout their life. Our facility includes dedicated exam rooms, a fully equipped surgical suite, in-house diagnostic laboratory, digital radiology, ultrasonography, and a comfortable recovery area for hospitalized patients.

We have designed the clinic with low-stress principles in mind. Separate waiting areas for dogs and cats, calm handling practices throughout, and an attentive team that moves at your pet’s pace rather than rushing through appointments. Our goal is for every visit to be a positive experience, starting from the moment you walk through the door.

We also offer free Happy Visits for new puppies and kittens: short, relaxed clinic visits with no procedures, no needles, and plenty of treats.
